With business and staff management systems under control, Queensland air conditioning company Alphacool has been able to focus on growing its business and diversifying services. The AusIndustry Entrepreneurs’ Programme has helped with access to networks, business advice and funding to help make this possible.
Director and founder of Alphacool, Marty Wittebol, says in the early days of the business, he found himself working 16-hour days. He was “on the tools” during the day and “on the paperwork” at night.
The business was growing rapidly and he realised that he needed far more efficient business management systems to keep track of the work, to
keep pace with the business’s growth and to actually help drive its expansion.
“The biggest challenges for a growing business like us is keeping up with everything as far as your systems go; not just operating systems, but also your industrial relations systems and occupational health and safety systems,” Marty says. It is a constant challenge that many small businesses such as his face, and it can be expensive.
